I want a cat ! - SILENT Sweetness : Sick Kitten (1903)

Haaveilen niin paljon omasta kissasta! Meillä olisi mahdollisuus saada
vanhempi, yksi herttaisimmista kissoista, mutta Joonas haluaa kissanpennun. Ovathan
ne ihan söpöjä, mutta en ehkä haluaisi ensimmäisen kissani olevan pentu.

Siihen on omat syynsä..

(Translation: I want a cat so badly! We do have an opportunity to have an adult cat, one of the most
sweetest I've ever met, but Joonas wants a kitten. Yes, kittens are cute, but I don't want my
first cat to be a baby.

I have my reasons...)

Kittens! Kittens!

Kittens kittens everywhere
Kittens chewing on my hair
Kittens climbing up my jeans
Kittens hanging from the screens
There's a kitten on each shoulder
Will they do this when they're older?

Kittens fighting on the chairs
Kittens tumbling down the stairs
There's a kitten on my head
There's a kitten in the bread!
There's a kitten in my shoe
I don't believe we just have two!

  1. I know what you mean - our first cat Penelope (hence my blog name) was about 9 when we got her and she had the lovliest nature. We were going to get a kitten, but she was the friendliest cat in the rescue and we knew she was meant for us. I don't think I could have handled a kitten anyway. The cats we have now are quite young (again the friendliest cats at the Rescue) - Juno is coming up to 3 and Luna is about 18 months - and we love them but they are such a handful, especially Luna.

I hope you get the cat that's perfect for both of you.

  4. You are wonderful to want to adopt an adult cat. My Zephyr was a rescue cat from a local cat shelter.

    1. Yeah, well, it is KIND OF adoption, that cat I want is Joonas' sister's but she would give it to me :)

  5. As a fellow cat lover (and cat mommy), I fully understand your desire to have a feline in your life. I think it's wise to adopt an older cat, especially if you haven't had too many pets before, as they can sometimes me more mellow and well adjusted than those squirming, adorable bundles of kitten fur (and thus easier to transition into your home and life).

Wishing you the very best with your decision,
    ♥ Jessica

    1. Yeah, I agree. I've had a dog earlier, we got it as a puppy and he wasn't very easy one. :)

  6. I want a cat, too! And I finally persuaded my husband to accept that fact. :) Sadly, no place that we have lived so far will let me have a cat...but someday...

I hope the two of you find a cat that speaks to both of your hearts! Maybe look at shelters for an adolescent cat? That way it's not quite a kitten, but not quite an adult, either. :)

    1. I am not even sure is it acceptable for us to have a cat in this apartment, but I don't believe we'll live here very much longer.:) I've been thinking about the shelters, but I am just so keen to that cat I could get :D

  8. Kittens are soo adorable. I get a terrible urge to get a kitten when ever I see photos. My cats are already 5 and 6 years old and they still eat my hair, drink my water, steal my food and sleep in my shoes :D

  14. They look adorable in pictures but in real life cats and I aren´t very close... maybe because both of us are very independent... my sister has one and she loves him... I tried with a baby cat and I didn´t have a good experience, so its a good idea to get an adult!!

  15. Oh, how sweet. Love that little poem and the old photos. You would like a picture I have of a little gray, blue-eyed kitten that was born in a former garden of mine. http://www.innatelygray.com/images/cat_eyes_2.JPG

  17. Sara. I was so happy to see that you dropped in for a visit. Thank you for following along. I am enjoying your blog. I have 3 cats and love their individual personalities. Timothy winter kitty is the youngest therefore the most playful. He is a rescue from Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Plucked him from a parking lot at 4 weeks. Dirty and smelly i snatched him up before he starved or froze to death. He is my sweet boy. I highly recommend a cat or kitten...they are the bes pets to have. Dawn suitcase vignettes.
