Lavatansseilla - Waltzing in a dance pavilion

(Translation: One week ago on saturday I went to Naapurivaara dance pavilion
with one gentleman, and I had a charming time.
We were almost only young dancingpartners there, and older people nudged us a little,
but still our dancing wasn't that bad. Well, we didn't know the real waltzing steps
but at least we didn't step on other one's toes.
The performers were schlager singers Anneli Mattila, and lovely Matti & Teppo.)

50-luvulta peräisin oleva ihana kellomekko (Betty Draper wanna-be)
odotti hengarissa.
Naapurinvaaran tanssikeskuksen sanotaan olevan 60-luvun henkinen tanssilava modernein

(Because this was my first time dancing in an open air dance pavilion,
I decided to dress up really nicely - I spend three hours on my hair and make-up,
and this adorable 50's circle gown (Bettie Draper wanna-be) just waited for me in a hanger.
Well, it was raining outside so I just wasted my time with my hair..
Naapurinvaara dance pavilion is said to have 60's vibe with modern frames,
and the atmosphere really was that kind.
After midnigh we were getting tired so we drove back to Nurmes.
The evening was like a dream for me..

.. Even though past few weeks have been really tough for me,
I have been memorizing the past, the good and the bad times too much, and
stressing about school, so I haven't felt really good.. I have tried to get my mood
better seeing my friends and going to dances, so I won't be left alone. Maybe
some day I can forget the last year completely.)

  3. Sara! You look so gorgeous in that dress- it was made for you. I of course love your daring mix of a plaid jacket (I squealed at the first pic. OUT LOUD. I love the look!) and how it makes it all modern yet retro. Very lovely of you to go dancing- I think the old timers were pleased as punch to see young kids out on the floor dancing.

I'm sorry to hear last year was rough on you- I wish you loads of happiness, good times and laughs, but we must take the lumps with the sugar. So a long distance kiss and hug from me to you, lovely friend. I cherish your spirit and your awesome style! xo. -Bella Q the Citizen Rosebud

  6. Oh what a perfect outfit for 'proper' dancing, with such lovely details in all the accessories. It's good to hear that you are focusing on the positive by going out dancing. Music and dance are food for the soul.
