Candles
The days of the future stand in front of us
Like a line of candles all alight----
Golden and warm and lively little candles.
The days that are past are left behind,
A mournful row of candles that are out;
The nearer ones are still smoking,
Candles cold, and melted, candles bent.,
I don’t want to see them; their shapes hurt me,
It hurts me to remember the light of them at first.
I look before me at my lighted candles,
I don’t want to turn around and see with horror
How quickly the dark line is lengthening,
How quickly the candles multiply that have been put out.
Like a line of candles all alight----
Golden and warm and lively little candles.
The days that are past are left behind,
A mournful row of candles that are out;
The nearer ones are still smoking,
Candles cold, and melted, candles bent.,
I don’t want to see them; their shapes hurt me,
It hurts me to remember the light of them at first.
I look before me at my lighted candles,
I don’t want to turn around and see with horror
How quickly the dark line is lengthening,
How quickly the candles multiply that have been put out.

Tätä olen tehnyt viime aikoina. Polttanut kynttilöitä, kuunnellut J.S. Bachin sävellyksiä,
juonut kamomilla teetä englantilaisittain ja lukenut kirjaa jonka jätin kesken
kuukausia sitten eräästä tietystä syystä. Minusta näin on ihana rentoutua pitkän koulupäivän
jälkeen, vaikka luonnollisesti välillä netin ihmeellinen maailma houkuttelee äärelleen.
(Translation: This is what I've been doing lately by candlelight. Listened compositions
by J.S. Bach, enjoying chamomile tea with milk, and reading a book I cut short few months ago
because of certain reason. I just love to relax this way after a long schoolday,
though - naturally - I have also spend time with my laptop, occasionally.)
napata joku vastaantuleva herrasmies kavaljeerikseni. Kyllähän sitä hieman jäi hyräilemään
innosta ja hymyilin koko matkan bussipysäkille.
Keskityn muutaman päivän ajan nyt kouluhommiin, nähdään kuitenkin pian!
(Something amazing happened today! My day got better after I stepped out from the mall
straight to the business street, and a beautiful composition by Johann Strauss was being played
there, somewhere, I don't remember was it "Vienna Blood Waltz" or "The Blue Danube Waltz", but
the atmosphere was incredible. I felt like I was the only one that heard the tune.
Maybe I imagined it in my head... I almost started to spin around to the music, or grab
some passer-bying gentleman to be my cavalier. I hummed by myself and had a smile on my face
all the way to the bus stop.
Now I will concentrate on school, but see you soon!)
PS:
kiitoksia paljon! :)
En ehdi nyt taaskaan siirtämään tätä eteenpäin, teen sen myöhemmin!
