Memories.. ~ Vintage horseback riding pics.

 pic

Nyt oon kuitenki inspiroitunut kovasti ratsastusasuista, etenkin kouluratsastuksen puolelta.
Niissä on jotain tyylikästä, ja kaikki jakut etenkin. Voisi vaikka aloittaa
ratsastuksen uudelleen senkin takia, että pääsisi pukeutumaan näinkin hienosti :D

(Translation: I don't think I have mention this before, but when I was a kid, I
used to go horseback riding, and I took lessons in a local riding school.
My walls were filled with horse posters, I read lots of books about horses and
I went to the stable at least once a week.
After going to the junior high, my excitement to horse stuff didn't last, and I
sold all my riding equipment. I don't know anymore, which was the reason
I didn't visit the stable anymore. Was it that I didn't like the whole stable (or it's owner) anymore,
or was it because I was afraid.

I really got scared of horses later, because I got traumatized, when one pony bucked
and I fell straight to the ground over her head. I know it sounds very silly, but I get traumatized very easily
and then I am not capable of doing it again.
Even though she was only a Shetland pony, it
didn't feel very nice to fell from her! I felt kinda dizzy. And yes, it was the first time I ever fell from
a horse/pony.
Everyone says that you must get back on a horse and ride without fear. Yes, I did get back, but I
just didn't feel safe anymore. I was very unsure and too nervous.

I am sad that my riding hobby didn't last. I have been missing those days
for couple of years now. It was so nice to ride horses and take care of them.
I don't even have any pictures from those days! :(

Well, nowadays I have got very much inspiration from horse riding outfits, especially in dressage.
There's something very stylish and elegant in the suits they are wearing while riding dressage.
I could consider to start horseback riding again just because of those suits :D)

  2. I used to ride when I was younger too! I had horse posters everywhere, tons of horse books, and was even penpals with some girls I met through a kids horse magazine. Unfortunately for me the stable I was at increased their prices dramatically and my parents couldn't afford it anymore (seriously, $60 a week for 30minutes a week is waaaaaayyy overpriced!) I know what you mean about missing it :(

  4. sacramento: Glad you like them :)

Kate: Oh, that price really sounds very much! :O We had €10 per 45 minutes lesson when I was riding there. But now I've heard there's €18-20 per hour. And even that is way too much for us.. But I miss those times :)

Kelly: :) it really is exciting!

  6. I love horseback riding attire. I've only been on a horse once, though! That always surprises people, because I live in Kansas and grew up in Oklahoma.
